OPEN ALL SUMMER: 15TH MAY - 30TH SEPTEMBER

Welcome to campingchamonix.com

A long time story

Gently nestled between verdant mountains since 1967

The home of ‘Camping du Glacier d’Argentiere’. Since the summer of 1966, when a young French climber asked to pitch his tent on the Ravanel family farmland, Camping du Glacier d’Argentiere has been welcoming campers every summer to enjoy everything that this fabled valley has to offer.

Almost 50 years on the facilities have changed, but the ethos has not. As one of the original campsites in Chamonix, we provide a clean, quiet and spectacular base in the centre of the Chamonix valley, to those wishing to enjoy the immense surroundings of the Mont Blanc Massif. Whether you are here to climb Mont Blanc, walk the Haute Route, mountain bike, parapente, or simply sit back and enjoy the views…

''Live it up, contemplate... The mountain opens its arms to you.''

Here, we will never be bored

Chamonix Mountain Guide Festival
From 12 to 15 august 2023

The Fête des Guides traditionally closes on 15 August with a ceremony on the square in front of the church attended by elected officials. This formal occasion is marked by a speech from the president of the Compagnie des Guides and the official acceptance of new Guides into the Compagnie. It is also an opportunity for Guides to pay tribute to their most loyal clients by presenting them with medals for loyalty and technical difficulty, symbolising the journey taken by them as a rope team.
